Get to know your sewing machine with this class just for tweens! We'll meet after school to learn the operating basics and tackle inside-out construction.  You'll go home with a nifty new me-made scrunchie (or two) and the skills and confidence to keep going.

Please note: this class is intended for students who already have their own working sewing machine. If your machine has been packed away for years, take it out for a test drive before the day of the class to make sure that it's functional. We have a limited number of machines to lend by prior arrangement, so email us if you need to borrow one.

Audience: kids aged 10-13

Skill level: beginners

Supplies we'll provide: all materials (fabric, thread, elastic) and basic tools like scissors, cutting mats, etc. plus kind, patient instruction

Supplies to bring with you:

  1. Your curiosity and willingness to experiment
  2. Your working sewing machine

COVID safety precautions:

  • Class size is limited.
  • Masks are strongly encouraged.
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home.

When you sign up for this class, you're agreeing to abide by our safety precautions as well as our registration policy. Please contact us before registering if you have any questions.
