Sew a Pride Flag

Play with color and show your pride! Using fabric, thread, and your sewing machine, you can make a pride flag as unique as you are. You'll learn some basic quilting skills: cutting fabric strips with a rotary cutter, piecing them together with your sewing machine, and finishing off with ironing, trimming, and hemming. Bonus: learn how to add grommets so you can fly your flag high.

Audience: Adults

Skill level: Beginner

Supplies we'll provide: Fabric, thread, and grommets, plus kind, patient instruction

Supplies to bring with you:

1. Your working sewing machine (please test it at home beforehand). If this is a financial obstacle, please get in touch with us before you sign up to explore your options.
2. Your curiosity and willingness to experiment

Instructor:

River (they/he) is a local fiber and mixed-media artist who has been making clothes, accessories, and art prints for over a decade. They currently substitute teach as well as participate in art events when they can.
