Cyanotypes (from the Greek kyanos meaning "dark blue") were the original method of printing architectural blueprints. Caroline Elizabeth Savage uses this photographic process to explore the natural world:
What I love is exploring the visible world as compositions of light, time and space. I believe what Richard Feynman, the brilliant Physicist, stated he loves in Physics, - the" kick of discovery." My photographic processes, with and without camera, record light and movement in the natural world of my garden. Rather than presenting a factual reality, I collaborate with the camera or historical process to make sequences that enable me to nurture, alter and control how natural forces - temperature, movement, sunlight and water - affect the perception images on light sensitive materials.
