Advanced Treasure Stitching

Advanced Treasure Stitching

The addition of old, broken, and/or beloved objects can add depth, texture, and narrative meaning to your embroidery. This class will show you how!

This session will focus on teaching students how to attach flat objects like coins or mirrors to a canvas. Because these techniques are more involved than the ones covered in the first Treasure Stitching session, we'll focus our time on the flat objects. You'll go home with a healthy head start on your project and the skills to finish it at home.

The first Treasure Stitching is not a prerequisite if you already know some basic embroidery stitches.

Audience: tweens, teens, and adults

Skill level: experienced stitchers looking to extend their skill set

Supplies we'll provide: all tools and most materials, plus kind, patient instruction and inspiration

Supplies to bring with you:

  1. The flat object that you want to stitch onto your canvas (a small mirror, coin, or other piece that is too hard to stitch through)
  2. Snacks and/or lunch that does not need refrigeration
  3. Your curiosity and willingness to experiment

COVID safety precautions: If you are not feeling well or if anyone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week, please stay home. Masks are welcome in the studio.

When you sign up for this class, you're agreeing to abide by our safety precautions as well as our registration policy. Please contact us before registering if you have any questions.
