Treasure Stitching: transforming trinkets into embroidery art
Treasure Stitching: transforming trinkets into embroidery art
Did Mom tell you that your great Aunt Hilda will haunt you forever if you get rid of the fist-sized goose pendant her first love gave her? Did you lose one half of your favorite pair of earrings? Is your jewelry box full of pieces you love but never wear? We can help!
The addition of old, broken, and/or beloved jewelry can add depth, texture, and narrative meaning to your embroidery. This class will show you how!
Working with a small-to-medium embroidery hoop, you'll create a background canvas that will highlight your piece. Tree will help you play with layout, show you how to secure the jewelry to your canvas, and demonstrate a few basic hand embroidery stitches so you can fill in or embellish your designs.
You'll go home with a new piece of art and a new favorite hobby!
